Cleaner and Healthier Air
According to the EPA indoor air can be up to five times more polluted than outdoor air.* That’s why a Carrier pleated air filter with a Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) of 10 can help provide cleaner, healthier air inside your home by filtering out select airborne pollutants that passthrough the filter, including large dust particles, pollen, dust mite debris, mold spores, bacteria, most smoke, virus carriers and most pet dander. Fits all standard brands.
What is MERV
The Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) is the standard comparison of an air filter’s efficiency. The MERV scale ranges from 1 (least efficient) to 16 (most efficient) and measures a filter's ability to remove particles from 0.3 to 10 microns in size. For even cleaner air, consider purchasing a MERV 13 Carrier air filter.
Higher MERV rated filters can cause a pressure drop and resulting drag on HVAC equipment, depending on the system. Please consult with your local Carrier expert for the recommended MERV size for your system.
How Often Should I Change My Air Filter
Changing your filter every 3 months not only keeps your indoor air cleaner but also helps optimize the performance of your home comfort system, potentially saving you energy and money.
